Soy Yadira Samaniego, una mujer luchadora, guerrera. Una mujer que supo aprovechar las oportunidads de la vida; soy madre, abuela y viuda. Soy sindicalista desde el año 90 y soy la Secretaria General del Sindicato de las Trabajadora Domésticas, Singretrads, en Panamá, y nos dedicamos a la defensa y mejora de las prestaciones y de la vida de las trabajadoras y trabajadores en Panama. Soy muy peliona, en el buen sentido de la palabra, defiendo los derechos de ellxs porque el trabajo doméstico remunerado por muchos años ha sido invisible y por esa razón hemos aprendido a defender aquellos que no tienen voz.
I am Yadira Samaniego, a fighter, a warrior. A woman who knew how to take advantage of life's opportunities; I am a mother, grandmother and widow. I have been a trade unionist since 1990 and I am the General Secretary of the Domestic Workers Union, Singretrads, in Panama, and we are dedicated to the defense and improvement of the benefits and the lives of workers in Panama. I'm very fierce, in the good sense of the word, I defend their rights because paid domestic work for many years has been invisible and for that reason we have learned to defend those who do not have a voice.
